The strap is a central part of the wearing experience. Its colour and shape influence the look, while its length, fastening and wrist fit influence comfort. Before choosing leather, steel or rubber, consider the clothes you wear and how long the watch will stay on your wrist each day.

Leather: look beyond the colour

For an understated look, compare the strap colour with the dial, case and your usual accessories. Read the material listed for the specific model; appearance alone does not establish the leather type or composition. Ask about the length of both pieces, adjustment positions, clasp type and care instructions. Gently dry a wet strap and ask for suitable advice before applying a cleaning product.

Steel: check the links and clasp

For a metal bracelet, confirm its circumference and how its length can be adjusted. Consider where the clasp will sit beneath your wrist, particularly if you work at a desk for long periods. Do not assume that every clasp has fine adjustment or that every link can be removed. These details vary by model.

Rubber: focus on fit

A rubber strap may appeal if you prefer a sportier appearance. Check its length and adjustment method, including whether fitting requires cutting or another permanent change. Strap material alone does not establish the watch's water resistance or make it suitable for swimming. Check the watch specifications and sealing advice separately.

Choose the experience, not just the label

The best choice is the one you find comfortable for your routine. Request an additional photograph of the clasp and underside if those details matter to you. If you plan to change the strap later, confirm the attachment width and connector compatibility. We do not promise that an alternative strap will fit without checking the model.

Before buying: confirm the material, length, clasp and adjustment options. Read our size and fit guide, then filter the collection by strap material.
